Project Update — Precision Meets Progress | Hume Valley School
Hume Valley School is a remarkable specialised school serving students aged 5 to 18.
With a rich history and a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion, the school’s expansion will further enhance educational provision and support for its students with intellectual disabilities and impairments.
Alchemy has been entrusted with completing the expansion of the secondary school building, encompassing partial demolition, refurbishment, portable relocation, external works, and building extension.
In close collaboration with Co.Op Studio we will create a modernised school environment, showcasing natural blackbutt timber as a natural and beautiful key facade element.
Furthermore, the project will feature newly designed play spaces and sensory outdoor areas, incorporating perforated metal screens, curved timber benches, and a blend of soft and hard landscaping, all aimed at enhancing learning opportunities for the students.
Our team are out on site at Hume Valley School, pioneering forward-thinking construction techniques.
By using pre-fabricated wall, floor joist and roof truss framing made from light gauge steel—a modern, innovative alternative to traditional timber, the new spaces within the school will remain robust and functional for many years to come.
