RMIT Trades Innovation Centre

Providing fit-for-purpose educational spaces, the new RMIT Trades & Innovation Centre at Bundoora East is a pivotal step in the growth of the College of Vocational Education. With demand rapidly increasing for contemporary trades, clean economy, and related industry programs, this state-of-the-art facility addresses the need for expanded teaching and learning environments to support the next generation of skilled workers in Melbourne’s northern corridor.

Collaborating closely with RMIT and Foreground Architecture, the Alchemy team executed a comprehensive scope of works, including civil works, services upgrades, landscaping, and construction on a greenfield site. The facility features unique and purpose-built elements, such as a 2.5m-deep sandpit, a three-storey training rig, welding bays, flexible teaching spaces, and outdoor zones, to enable the simulation and teaching of complex trades.
