Propelling Monash University's infrastructure to new heights.

The sky’s the limit at our Vertical Transport project at Monash University.

Towering to over 25 metres into the sky, the incredible facade of the new lift tower is a landmark of the University.

Designed and constructed in partnership with NH Architecture , Monash University and AECOM, the new seven-storey lift shaft now provides improved vertical transport access to all levels of Building B and Building C.

The ICU fit-out at the Royal Melbourne Hospital was built on a strong foundation that places Melbourne Health as a leader in the provision of ICU facilities.

The new facility provides 10 intensive care beds, an isolation room, nurses station, associated amenities and ancillary spaces. The works are similar to the other ICU Pods on the same floor that were undertaken as part of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre project.

Alchemy’s experience came to the fore to fully co-ordinate the provisional services in readiness for highly specialised ICU equipment to be installed in a ‘turn-key’ fitout at completion, including medical gases and mobile nursing stations for life support services.

The new Centre allows students, faculty and the broader school community to immerse themselves in a dynamic variety of flexible performing arts areas including a new theatre, drama, dance and music space, all seamlessly complemented by an expansive and welcoming foyer.

A beautiful, brand new kindergarten and family centre designed with the surrounding environment in mind.

Alchemy was engaged to deliver the new, purpose-built Wellington Child and Family Hub in Mulgrave for the City of Monash. The project is designed by the talented AOA Christopher Peck Architects to replace the existing aged kindergarten that had insufficient capacity for the increased demand in the local community. Initial works required demo of the existing Wellington Preschool and Mulgrave Maternal Healthcare buildings, and Alchemy managed works carefully from the outset, given the site is surrounded by residential properties and local shops, so all site activities and deliveries are keeping disruptions to an absolute minimum.

The new Hub offers brand new kindergarten rooms, maternal, child health and specialist consulting rooms, a community playgroup room and multi-purpose family room, all purpose built and will provide a truly state-of-the-art Childcare and Family facility. Ancillary works included a welcoming yet secure entry foyer, supporting amenities, outdoor education landscape areas and associated civil and site infrastructure services works.

This facility is the first of its kind in Monash and demonstrates a commitment to improving the accessibility and quality of early childhood services in the growing population of the Monash municipality. A particular focus is the major works around some established and wonderful trees, and the site team are doing a great job to protect these mature specimens.

Luxury living by the Clubhouse.

Lifestyle Communities Deanside is purpose-built for older Australians who want to keep living their fullest, most connected lives well into their retirement years. Alchemy was commissioned on a design and construct basis to build new amenities for Deanside homeowners as well as the new clubhouse and surrounds. These now feature indoor and outdoor pools, spas, a steam room, a cinema, a gym, a lounge, and games and activities rooms, as well as outdoor recreation areas and courts.

Working alongside DKO Architecture, we executed a design concept inspired by the Australian landscape’s raw, earthy colours and textures. Working in a D&C capacity gave us great opportunities to advise the client value management and the resolution of specific detailing. Now, Lifestyle Communities Deanside residents have the chance to embrace five-star resort-style R&R, year in and year out.

Monash University Caulfield has a brand-new campus student hub and we are delighted to have delivered it.⁠

Rated as one of Australia’s top Universities, the refurbishment works undertaken at the Caulfield Campus were a key step in Monash’s strategy to inspire the next generation and draw visitation back to the campus for day and evening events.

Building H is a highly prominent, contemporary multi-level workplace, centrally located within the university and gifted with substantial views across the campus green.

Continuing our long relationship with Monash and extending our experience working within tertiary environments, the Alchemy team took pride in assisting Monash to deliver the refurbishment of world-class facilities, that are at the forefront of good design practices, including good access to daylight, thermal and acoustic comfort.
